Angela Hacker on Nashville StarAngela Hacker on Nashville Star
Angela has always loved music and musical instruments, which were all over her house as a child. Her parents were both into music, as well as her three older sisters who sang and played. Angela was very shy around most people and waited until 13 before singing publicly at a school talent contest. With a win in the contest, the adrenaline rush was intense and hasn’t quit since.
Through the years, Angela worked hard to be better herself at her craft, playing everywhere she could. From talent contests to bars to weddings and funerals (really), Angela did it all. Over the past year, Angela has been writing and recording with some of her local idols such as Jimmy Nutt, who encouraged her to go to The House of Fame and get to work.

Meg Allison on Nashville StarMeg Allison on Nashville Star
Meg Allison is a born storyteller and performer. Biding her time between Chicago and Nashville, she is paying her dues as an emerging acoustic artist, touring and honing her craft. Meg’s writing has the honesty of country and the catchiness of pop. She writes the melodies that stick, with the lyrics you’ve lived.
Now with the release of her debut album, “Missing Piece”, it appears that Meg is finally being discovered. The album produced by Chris Keup (Jason Mraz, Jonathan Rice) and Stewart Myers (Shawn Colvin, Lifehouse, Rachel Yamagata) has been earning critical praise and her song “Old Soul” recently won Songwriters Universe’s “Best Song” competition. She has also showcased at two National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) conferences in front of thousands of students. Fans from New York to Los Angeles and from Omaha to Austin are discovering this rising talent, making a home for Meg Allison on their iPods.

Working With Silk TopsWorking With Silk Tops
The first time that I set eyes on silk “tops” at a craft exhibition in Glasgow. The stall was set out with a myriad of colours and textures; little bags of silks in amazing jewel-like hues. It was like finding a lost piece to a jigsaw puzzle.
